Pipe wall thickness is measured with the non-destructive testing method Radiometric Profiling (RP).

Wall thickness is measured on insulated and uninsulated piping in your system. Remaining (current) thickness is reported by collecting data around the entire circumference of the pipe at the test location. We scan through the pipe, and report the lowest thickness value detected at the test location. This provides a ‘worst case scenario’ for decision-making.

Thickness Change, reported as a percentage, is the difference between the nominal wall thickness for the pipe, and the thickness measurement at the time of testing.
